so were relegated again, could you have done anything about it.... no , nor me
once again the royal blue roller coasters hit a dip , i dont care im still gonna support them next season.

if you think following the blues is all glory i got a reality check for you get used to it cause just when you think you've turned a corner KABOOM and thats the way its always been, it dont matter about your level of support or where you get to watch em birmingham city football clubs in your heart and pumping thru your veins its all the love you could ever want, and the reason why were all getting at each others because this time it really hurts, that roller coaster took one hell of a dive this time
but we hit the top and all the reals turned jackpot and we got our big prize.

take this as a lesson learn from it and get stronger dissapointment yeah so what
look on the bright side we you could have 16 toes 19 fingers and be married to your mother just like them lot of glory hunters.

how about giving your fellow noses a break on here and stop all the bickering it just adds to the disappointment.

Well said and a with with a bit of passion as well.

Relegation hurt but to be honest we can't say in the end it was not deserved. One point out of eighteen in the last six games says it all!

Strangely I have recovered from the hurt more quickly than I thought.

We have to get over this quickly and take it on the chin!

Let's just hope the owners have the money to mount a serious attempt to get us back up next season!

Let your heart beat strong and all that. :lager:

As I'm still only 19, I'm used to seeing Blues in the Premier League, I started supporting in 00/01 and since then we have spent 7 out of 11 seasons as a Premier League team.

But even I know that being a Blues fan is about the highs and the lows, its in our club song "They'll be joys and sorrows to" its the excitement of being a Bluenose. I wouldn't have it any other way, I would hate to support a Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea ETC - I'd rather not be involved with football.

Its way too plastic and what does beating Fulham 2-0 at home mean to a Man Utd fan whose watching it on TV. Absolutely nothing. Whereas if we beat Fulham 2-0, I'd be over the moon. All Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal fans are going to be worrying about over the summer is what superstars they can bring in, or what superstar they might lose to Barcelona or Real Madrid this year. Boring.

I don't buy into the whole "The Premier League is the place to be." Wolves, Wigan and Blackburn might have been celebrating like mad on Sunday whilst we were devastated, but its the same again for them next season. A long relegation dogfight slog, which I'm convinced will see one maybe two of them coming down.

There is only 4-5 teams that are ever going to win that league, and the bottom half of teams especially QPR, Norwich, Blackburn, Wolves, Wigan and West Brom will be grateful just to stay up, whilst the likes of Newcastle, Fulham, Bolton and Sunderland, what are they going to contribute? Other than to make up the numbers, and again, probably just happy to survive.

A few years ago teams like Villa and Everton looked like they could be the ones to crack the top four. But that has no chance of happening now. Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and to an extent Liverpool and Spurs might as well be in there own league. yes there have been upsets this season, but I think it was a one off.

Whilst if everything goes to plan, we could be watching some better football, watching Blues score a few more goals, watching some younger players come through and ultimately enjoying the taste of victory probably more than Wigan, Wolves and Blackburn fans put together.

We will be going into away games against the likes of Bristol City and Ipswich looking to create plenty of chances and score goals, and ultimately to win. Whilst Blackburn for example will be sticking 11 men behind the ball and trying to cling on for a 0-0 away at Sunderland.

Obviously I wish it was us who'd have stayed up Sunday, and I think I'd still take med table mediocrity and "making up the numbers" in the Premier League and you might think this is just me trying to comfort myself over the relegation and justify it as being a good thing, but I've been watching football and supporting Blues long enough to know football is full of ups and downs, its part and parcel of it. There's every chance Wolves and Wigan fans might be the ones crying on TV this time next season whilst we are celebrating passing them by on our way back to the Premier League.

You may be only 19 but your post contains much maturity.

I think their is an oversight in that people recognise the premier league as the place to be purely for it's standard of players. The fact that ManUtd and Chelsea are two of the biggest clubs in the world with world class players. The fact that you can pay for a ticket and see these stars play is the difference. I the coming season we will buy our tickets but will not be playing against the likes of these.

It also of course is very beneficial to the club financially.

i have ben saying this for months, but people think it was sour grapes cause albion looked like they were going down. but it wasnt sour grapes. relegation has happened and now there is a new season to look forward to. new grounds to visit, top of the league instead of bottom. being respected instead of being a nobody. once the season kicks off as a real fan, you forget what league you are in and just get right behind the team. and while blues are having a great time teams like wolves albion wigan and the others will have the same battle all over again. their fans will be miserable for most of the season where as blues fans will be happy and excited. honestly trust me, once thew season starts football is football what ever league you are in. put it behind you, support your team and remember you are league cup champions. bring it on. i am excited for you. :kro: maulley.

Maulley I've read you're history with blues on here before, as a baggies fan your more supportive of our team than most on this board. Good on ya and I hope the baggies stay up next year, the championship will be another roller coaster but that's what being a bluenose is about the joys (feb 27th) and sorrows last week.

Being an old git and long time supporter I got over the blinkered view of Blues many years ago and more or less see it the way you do.
I see it that at least watching Birmingham is not dull, there ia either a relegation or a promotion to worry about.
Also, what's the point of being a fan of a big club like Man Utd ? Watching them trash inferior teams every week; it's not much better than being a Celtic/Rangers fan. Then when they have a few bad games, everyone gets suicidal, check out the comments by Liverpool fans earlier in the season. " Suffering" .... they don't know the meaning of the word. Anyone can support a successful team.

Very wise words for one so young. It took me about 40 years of supporting to come to the same view! I have an 11 year old nephew who is a Bluenose ( my fault ) and he is distraught at the relegation. I think I will refer him to your post.

Good post young Baron, we need a few more like you. As a battle hardened Bluenose with 45 years of 'journeying on' under my belt I am used to our promotion/relegation adventures and it is great to be inspired by the fans of our future.
I am already looking forward to next season and our march back to the Premier league.

Thank god for all the posts on here. I thought I was going mad seeing all the other threads with fellow fans slagging each other off. That gets us nowhere.

A fan as a young lad since the late fifties I can just about remember the last time we were in Europe (Fairs City Cup) so I have experienced all the joys and sorrows over the years. As a bluenose you get used to the disappointments.

Relegation really hurts but you get over it. Time to move on get behind the team and go for promotion next season.
